Project

Koreysia

This project aims to revitalize the arts scenes in both Korea and ASEAN (Malaysia) that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by leveraging the unique characteristics of each country's cultural and artistic expressions. The goal is to facilitate the recovery (resilience) of the arts in both nations and establish measures to ensure the ongoing international exchange among ASEAN countries. Additionally, the project seeks to reassess the meaning of 'innovation' in the cultural and artistic field by promoting the sharing of knowledge and experiences between Korea and ASEAN, discovering common values, and collectively pursuing artistic excellence.

In light of the disruptions caused by COVID-19, the project aims to restore cultural exchanges, flexibly blend the diverse cultural potentials of each country, and showcase the possibilities of Asian culture to the world, transcending ASEAN and reaching a global audience.

Over the course of one week in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the project will conduct research and workshops on traditional Malaysian cultural arts (music, dance, costume) and ultimately present a showcase.
